I have a My Book 4 TB external drive. Will a previous backup from an old computer be erased if I do a new backup of new computer on that same WD device?

I don’t think the answer you proposed applies to my situation. I have a backup from my old PC on the My Book 4TB external hard drive, and I am now using a laptop with different data on it, of which I would need to make a new backup. There is plenty of available space on the WD device. If I make a backup of the laptop, will that overwrite the previous backup from the PC?
