SDCZ50-032G cruzer blade go h/w write protect for ever!

Hi
my usb drive is h/w write protected!
Are there any chances to repair it by myself via updating firmware?

It can not be formatted on any windows or mac computer or on any other digital mediaplayers device and settop box.

The current data files on it can be read/copy with no problems.

can someone explain why this happens, what action makes the usb drive to goto selfprotect mode by itself technically?

“Are there any chances to repair it by myself via updating firmware?”

No.  It is a electrical problem not a software problem.

“can someone explain why this happens, what action makes the usb drive to goto selfprotect mode by itself technically?”

Power surge and/or heat are the most likely suspects.

I hope that this is still under warranty and I would suggest for you to check if you can go ahead and ask for a replacement to this.
