I put in a .vob file in the sansa media converter, but the “convert” tab is greyed out
Any suggestions?

The Convert button can take minutes to become enabled after loading a video. Apparently the software is doing some kind of processing on the video during that time. Unfortunately there’s no kind of progress indicator to let you know this. Personally I’m pretty disappointed in Sandisk’s effort on this piece of software … it seems like a hack.
And the media player has to be plugged in and “seen” by windows. If not, try unplugging it and plugging it in again.
