I recently recieved a Sansa m230 MP3 Player. It is cool, but I have one problem with it. The volume can be turned down, but not up. The volume-up button simply does not work. I need to reset setting just to turn the volume back to normal. Do you have any fixes? I think it is a problem with the button itself.
Get another player. It’s
Not really. It works - just the volume up is dead. I can reset settings to turn it on - and no, that does not delete the music.
The volume down button gives a solid click when i press it. The up button does not.
Well if you’d rather play around with it this way, knock yourself out. But this is an ancient, low-end player and there’s no way to fix the button. That’s why I suggested getting another player. Take the $5 this thing is worth and put it toward a new one.

I kind of like it because of the FM radio. BTW, do you know any mods for this player? Probably not, i’m guessing. Just asking.
All of SanDisk’s Sansa line of mp3 players have an FM raido. And the newer ones have more memory space, SD card slots (for even more storage) and many other enhancements and features, both hardware and firmware-related.
The latest is the Clip Zip, a small, matchbook-sized mp3 player with a color screen (for album art), in either 4GB or 8GB internal memory size, and the afore-mentioned card slot in which you can add up to another 32GB of storage. And it sounds awesome.
You should really check it out.
OK. But I still like it. Is there any firmware updates or hacks for it?
