Sansa m230 much slower with 3.xx firmware than with 1.xx firmware

my sansa m230 mp3 player firmware version 1.xxx recently crapped out after a year of faithful service so i just bought another.

the new one i got was firmware version 3.xxx and it works, but its slower. it takes at least a full second of time to find the next track no matter what. the sansa m230 with firmware version 1.xxx would IMMEDIATLY find the next track in less than 0.2 seconds.

the firmware version 3.xx m230 works but im still dissapointed. i loved having the song change instantly, but now i have to wait a full second for the next song. whats the deal? is there anywa to change this? are there any factors that influence the time it takes to changes songs? i already know that downgrading the firmware is supposedly impossible.

thanks for your time, id love an answer to this. thanks again.

I would almost be willing to bet you this is a “feature” … that is, a deliberate change in the software that some users actually prefer. But I have no inside info. Just a guess.
