Sansa Fuze gets file/folder view--could the Clip be next?

In newly-released firmware for the Fuze, SanDisk has implemented file/folder view.  Yahoo!  This is a major philosophical shift!

Now:  could the Clip be next?!?  The Clip got podcast and audiobook bookmarking after that feature first was implemented for the Fuze.  Hopefully, the Clip’s technology will allow for file/folder view …  The addition of that feature to the Clip could only further Clip sales, as recent forum postings continue to reflect.

And by the way, some other nice enhancements added to the Fuze:  the addition of a Replay Gain option (to normalize the volume level between songs), and additional track information.  Will be interesting to see if these also would fit into the wee Clip.

Will be a sad day for that new Apple tie clip thing …  Maybe to try to equilibrate, SanDisk could deactivate all the buttons on the Clip.

This would make me very, very happy.

That would be nice, but I just love my clips the way they are.  I never thought it possible, but I think I prefer the clips to a very small degree over my fuzes, since video isn’t a concern at all with me.

it seems that Sansa is really listening to us, not just pretending

I hope the feature (and replaygain) will find its way to our clips. The thread grew pretty quickly, still i had not the time to check if the pitch issue fix is ok (I guess it is).

The volume “jumping to the max between tracks” has never been reported for the clip, am I wrong?

wxyz, that - while waiting for the 8gb clip - bought a  2gb one. it is utterly *amazing*, great sound (looking for a good pair of jazz friendly warm-sounding canal phones, though, any hint?) lots of useful features (like the audiobook chipmonks mode) and great, just great, ergonomics - small and with the volume control different from the track skipping buttons. someone in the design department was really thinking, it seems

thumbs up, sansa. very good job.

Oops, I didn’t see this thread before I bumped the other one. What a lovely hopeful thought to finally have folders!!

But still, just to reiterate, I love my Sansa and have had it for a year now.  I live with syncing but would really rather have folders.

The good ol’ drag n drop cuts out the software middleman, (unless you consider file manager as “software”).

You can drag and drop now…no need to sync.
