Sansa Express - way to place songs in different folders

Hi -

I’ve got a Sansa Express and when I sync it the music is placed in folders on the device - like Artist or Album. 

When I select Play All in Songs they will play but if I select by Artist it says No Song.

I’ve attempted syncing from the Artist section in WMP but they aren’t placed in that folder on the device.

I even created a new folder called Artist on the device and placed all of the songs by that artist in it but it doesn’t show as being there.

Is there an way to get the songs into the Artist folder to be able to play them that way?  I’ve been using WMP on a PC to sync but I’ve also used the Send to option instead.
