Sansa Clip shuts down

Hi everyone !

I’ve had a few issues with my Sansa Clip bought last year, but everything turned out to be fine in the end. However, last month, I was listening to music and the device just shut down. It wouldn’t turn itself on again, so I tried a reset. It turned on, but just for a few seconds. Since then, it won’t stay on more than 5 seconds max. And it just shuts off, no “Goodbye” or anything.
I tried to format the device, but it doesn’t work either. However, the device is lit up when I plug it on my computer.

Have you any idea what it could be ?

What model Clip is it? Original, Plus, or Zip?

Could be faulty lead-in wires to the battery (a common problem amongst the original version), or faulty charing circuitry or battery. Regardless, it sounds like a hardware issue, so if you bought it new only last year, it should still be under warranty (unless it’s a e-furb) and SanDisk will replace it.

It could also be possible that the battery can’t hold a charge. On the bright side, you can use this incident as an excuse to buy a new one.

Isn’t that what I said (“faulty charing circuitry or battery”)? :confounded:
