I bough my player around 6 months ago. It has been fine untill recently when it started hanging when you press next song. I started reseting it (pree power button for around 1 minute) whenever it did this. When I connect to computer all is fine when I unplug it hangs again so I reset again. today I pree power button on it displays sandisk then hangs with logo only it has not refused to come on completely. when I connect it to the comp it seen just as a removable disk i: but one cannot open or format. Please advice on what to do. thanks
Sounds like corrupted files, and trying to play them may have sorrupted the firmware.
While this may sound silly, it has worked for others . . . leave it on and let the battery completely drain. this may take a day or two. Then plug it into your computer and see what happens. This may also take a while to slowly trickle charge the device and become visible/recognised by your computer. Then you can format the player and/or manually re-apply the fimware.
But I would take a hard look at the files before you go sticking them back on the player, or you might just have a repeat of this problem. What is the source of the files (ie. where did you get them)?
