Sansa Clip not recognized by my computer

I have been charging the Sansa Clip 1 g for (around) a 4.5 hours (maybe longer) and it keeps showning the same thing …connected sometimes something like writing.  I can’t find it on my “My Computer”.  I’ve looked on Windows XP…nothing.    My son tried to unplug it a couple of times…nothing different.  (Except it shut off)  I’ve looked elsewhere on this forum and haven’t seen an answer.

Unplug it.

Set it to Settings>USBMode > MSC and try again.

Update the firmware if its not version 1.01.20
