Sansa Clip Display Broken?

Hello, Since yesterday morning, my clip+ looks like this :

Tried completely charging it. Formatted it, reinstalled firmware, to no avail. Any ideas? I just bought it last month on eBay, but I think RMAing is out of the question since it’s a refurbished unit.

Have you tried a reset? If this doesn’t clear things up then yes, I think you’re going to have to replace it.

I always get a lot of flac (and not the Free Lossless Audio Codec kind) when I voice my opinion of re-furbs, but to me the ‘value’ simply isn’t there if the thing doesn’t last. I think one is better off paying a slightly hugher price for the unit to get a manufacturer’s warranty.

It certainly costs less than buying 2 units, as you might have to do now.

You might as well try Rockbox on it…if nothing else works, what do you have to lose?

:womansad:  I am sad. I loved my clip for almost 2 years. On specifically Feb 7th, updates were made and my clip stopped working properly. I identified the clip but froze on “connected”. I tried all the suggestions for the past week or more and now it is froze on connected again. The Device driver software will not install and it goes on and on.

My Red 2G clip is ‘toast’. I’ll probably trash it and more a little more expensive device since all the suggestions online and off, have not corrected my ‘frozen’ clip.

So Thanks to the Clip but…as one person on the board suggested:  trash it, spend more money for a better device.

Better luck to my “clipper” owners.
