same trouble… cant mount disk in finder

I have also the same problem

Same problem… SanDisk Extreme SSD (500GB / 1050MB/s R, 1000MB/s W) have updated to last version of Mac OS 14.1 (Sonoma), my 2 other SanDisk Extreme (500GB & 1TB / 550MB/s R) have no problem on the same cables. Both USB 3 and USB C (Thunderbolt) make no difference.

I have downloaded EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard… No drive found
I have checked Disk Utility… No drive found
This drive was not dropped or put in water…

IT JUST STOPPED WORKING.

There are a lot of active projects on the drive, and data that can’t be replaced.

Same problem here with my new 4 tb extreme portable SSD. Tell me, have I just bought an expensive brick to look at on my desk, or is there a way I can use it as data storage?

I have the same problem with the SanDisk 1TB Portable SSD. Model Number SDSSDE30-1T00.

It doesn’t show up on my MacBook Pro 14" with M1 Pro Chip, running Sonoma.
All cables and ports have been tested, and work perfectly with other devices.
The SSD works perfectly on my 2015 MacBook Pro 15", using the same cables.
There are currently files on my drive, so I can’t reformat.
The SSD is using exFAT file system.
Laptop is fully updated with current software.
Laptop has been restarted.

Can someone please help?!?

  • Ensure proper USB connection; use a different USB port or cable.
  • Check device manager for driver issues; update or reinstall USB drivers.
  • Test on another computer to rule out system-specific problems.
  • If still not detected, contact SanDisk support for potential hardware issues.
