So I’ve had a 1tb My Book for a while now and never really bother to update it. I finally did it, and it’s asking me to upgrade to the WD Smartware Pro version, but I need to spend $30.00 to do so. I updated it from inside my existing software and can’t see why it would need me to buy an activiation key when I already bought a WD drive.
If this update actually requires me to pay an addition $30 on top of what I already paid for the drive, you can bet this drive is going to end up right in the garbage.
