My TakeTV remote has stopped working. I’ve tried new batteries, but no good …
Any ideas? Anyone know of a generic remote that works or a source of spares?

Have you tried calling support @ 866.SanDisk? Maybe they will replace it with some they have in stock, call and let us know what happens. I doubt you will find any spares in the stores that will work in its place.
I got a Sony “learning” remote for around $20, maybe $25 bucks. It’s the RM-VL600, and I have no idea how it compares to others. It comes with loads of codes like any other universal remote, but you can take an unprogrammed remote, like the TakeTV’s, point them at each other, and program it. It works perfectly for me. Much easier to deal with than the included remote.

Have you seen this work with a take tv remote that has stopped working? The pointing the other learning remote at it, and have it learn what it needs to from it?

Sorry, I haven’t. I can’t really say, but if the TakeTV remote is totally nonfunctional, I doubt it will work.
