Problem Removing WD Unlocker Drive from My Computer

I recently lost data on one of my drives and had to order a backup drive from my cloud data company to restore the files. Once I received the drive I downloaded WD Security to unlock the drive to get my data. Now that I am finished restoring my data, I can’t seem to remove a drive on my computer listed as WD Unlocker. It is somehow connected to my drive that I lost data on because when I unplug my hard drive in which I lost data on the WD Unlocker drive is also removed. But when I plug my drive back in the WD Unlocker reappears. What can I do to permanently remove it. I have tried ejecting the drive, uninstalling WD Security software but nothing works.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi @mawaw1992,

If you’re having trouble removing the WD Unlocker drive from your computer, here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Close any programs or files that may be accessing the drive.
  2. Right-click on the WD Unlocker drive in Windows Explorer and select “Eject.” This should safely remove the drive from your system same like https://vscomodapk.com/vsco-for-pc/.
  3. If the above step doesn’t work, try opening Task Manager and ending any processes related to the WD Unlocker drive. Look for processes with names like “WD Drive Unlock.exe” or “WD Drive Manager.exe.” Once you’ve ended these processes, try ejecting the drive again.
