Problem creating playlists on sandisk clip jam, file names shown as titles and Japanese characters not recognized

I have been trying for hours to create a playlist but no matter how close I get to succeeding the playlist always displays the file name of the song where the title should be and completely refuses to recognize any files with Japanese file names despite being able to recognize and display them perfectly fine in the album and artist and song sections. I have tried everything I can think of from using multiple different programs to create the m3u files to using a batch file to saving it as an m3u8 file to saving an m3u8 file as an m3u file with utf8 encoding.

I have no idea what to do, I’m extremely tired and frustrated, and I need help. I honestly wish I could find a replacement for the default firmware at this point.

Hi @tiger319,

Take a look at this short discussion in the SanDisk Forum. 4 1/2 years later and this method still works best for me. (Need to use a PC; not easy for a Mac.)
