HELLO I AM IN A PANIC AS MY HARD DRIVE DOES NOT SEEM TO READ ON MY DESKTOP OR LAPTOP. IT READ ON MY VIZIO TV . ONCE I CONNECT IT TO THE COMPUTERS I HEAR THE LOADING OF THE HARD DRIVE BUT NOTHING EVER COMES UP . CAN SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO TO JUST GET THE INFORMATION FROM THE HARD DRIVE AND TRANSFER IT TO MY COMPUTER? I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE WHAT I HAVE INSIDE

Connect the Passport directly to one of the USB ports, avoid USB extension cables or USB hubs. You can check on the disk management window to see if the Passport is recognized there.

yes, it takes awhile but the tv does detect it. ive tried connecting it to my desktop,laptop and my surface tablet and none of them read it. i hear the loading sound of the hard drive but thats about it. ive already ordered another wd hdd, but i just want to grab all my files asap just in case
It is weird then that the Passport is not showing up on the disk management window. You could try using a data recovery program to recover your files, with the help of Google you should be able to find several options.
