Please rewrite the software!

I totally agree with the other posts on this issue. The drive is good but the Smartware software that takes over your whole system is **bleep**!!!

Okay, it’s great peace of mind knowing that my data is constantly backed up but if the price is total loss of performance and ruined overall user experience, I’m seriously considering dumping this whole system and findng an alternative. I used to use One Touch and the only reason I changed to WD was I needed a bigger drive. But at least with the old systm my PC ran smoothy. This is a nightmare!!!

Is is really too much to ask to have the option of either (1) constant backup or (2) scheduled backup. Then let the user decide and take the risk.

I have a good computer but guys, this set up is making my life a misery  :cry: and I rely on a good system to remain productive as I use my computer all day for work.

I uninstalled Smartware after the first backup when I saw what a resource hog it was. Smartware also doesn’t backup all file types so check and see if it’s getting everything you need backedup.

Your post sounds more like a good Feature Request; best placed in the Ideas Exchange section. This way someone from WD will be sure to see it and will allow more users to support your idea. However, I would first search and make sure that there are no other active Feature Requests suggesting the same or similar improvements. If there is, then you could add your post and vote on it.
