i bought a WD external hard disk(My Passport 0740) n locked it with bitlocker of windows 8 overtime i got bored with the bitlocker thing and decided 2 remove it,during the removal process it neva finished removing n wen i plugged in my hard disk into the computer it was detecting bt not showing on the my computer application.i ave tried accessin it 4rm task manager bt avent succedded.my question is can i still repair my hard disk n use it???n if possible hw???
Have you tried to see your Passport drive in Disk Management? (Right click Computer Icon > Manage > Left Click Disk Management at lower left.) If the drive does not have a letter assigned, it will not appear in Windows Explorer (My Computer). If you can see the drive in Disk Management, but it has no letter, you can right click on it and assign a letter. If DM asks to Initialize or Write Signature to the disk, it does not see it as being formatted. You can then partition and format it, but any data on it will be lost. If you had it locked with a password, that data can only be accessed via Bit Locker and the password. If you don’t care about the data, then reformat it, if all else fails.
