play by filename rather than tags ?

hey guys…

i’ve just picked myself up a 2gig clip, updated the firmware and put into MSC mode.

Can i play files by folder/filename rather than using tags… in the same way that you can with rockbox ?

As far as I know, you can’t. I wish it could be done, but I guess Sandisk has decided to support only tags and playlists.

I wrote a freeware/open-source Windows program as a workaround. It automatically generates playlists from the folders on the Clip. Give it a try if you want: AutoM3U v1.1

You could also use any media player program to create and edit the playlists manually, of course.
