PC to Apple

I have two 7 year old WD external hard drives I use with my pc.
I am thinking of switching to a MacBook.
Will I need to do more than get new cables and what kind should I get?
One is My Book Essentials 1 T and the other is My Book Home 2 T.

As long as one end of the cable go to the computer is a Type-A male then you should be able to the Mac the has the Type-A female. Most new macBook…might not have the type-A port. They all use the USB-C port which you might need to buy an adapter. Hope that can help you.

I understand. Knowing most cables can be connected even with adapters is encouraging.

I have used your external drives for about ten years without failure so I bought an internal one also. Kudos to WD.
