I’ve upgraded my Clip+ with a 16GB SDHC card and copied some longer mp3 tracks to the card - sometimes about 2 hours long. When these long tracks run for a while I am no longer able to pause the playback. The device won’t react to the keypress. On the second keypress, playback pauses for a short amount of time (maybe 4th of a second) and immediatly starts playing again. If I turn the device off and back one, the pause function is back working while the track continues where I left playing. The problem comes back after some minutes.
This is probably something that will interest the firmware development team. I’m sure they’ve already seen your post (or soon will) and will attempt to duplicate it in their testing. If it is truly a reproducable bug, we’ll most likely see a fix for it in a future firmware update.

Although I don’t think this applies here, it’s an interesting point. I will check that next time the problem occurs.

I find all my mp3’s and podcasts pause exactly as they should, however i don’t entertain long mp3 files, i always split them into multiple parts in linux, though there are Windows utilities that can do the same.

Besides I am also using linux and know how to split mp3 that’s not the purpose of these mp3s. The long running mp3 are live mixes and DJ session - I won’t like listen to them splitted or create playlist and do all this manual stuff. I want to have some live mixes on the device and listen to them in random order (but in one piece each). The device doesn’t have this problem with normal length tracks - pause just works there as it should - no matter when I press this button after boot.

It’s indeed due to pressing “pause” too early. While I accept this as solution I still consider it a bug which should be fixed by the devs.
