I use the drive for time machine backup and it randomly disconnects, what is the issue? I think it disconnects when it’s either waking up or going to sleep

I will recommend that you try using a different USB cable, if possible try a Micro USB 2.0 cable for testing purposes, also make sure the cable is connected properly to the back of your drive and to the USB port on the computer.
