Looking at the WD Security App I thought that removing the encryption/lock password would be a safe operation, but now the two partitions I had are gone.
Was it supposed to be unsafe removing an external drive password?
“WD Security” just said the password was successfully removed, but all my data (or just the two partitions I had) are gone. According Windows Disk Manager the space is now unallocated but the drive led is blinking.
Thinking about it, removing the password was relatively fast for a drive of 4TB. Could the blinking light be that there is something going on within the drive and later the partitions will show up again? Is there any thing I could do to check if the disk is doing something (like logs output) or at least recover my data?
