Not recognizing for format

Just bought a WD external, plugged it in and began following the steps to format it for Mac, but it’s not showing up under Disk Utlity. I’ve looked around but haven’t found a solution, any help?

Please if possible let me know the external drive model, also test your drive using a different computer to see if the drive is recognize?

I don’t have another mac so I can’t check that, I can try it on a PC though.

Model number is WDBAAU0010HBK-NESN, says WD Elements on the box. No other way I can find to identify it.
