Not Mounted partition of My Book Studio

Hello folks,

For some years I have a Western Digital My Book Studio LX with 2 TB, working perfectly connected to an iMac, till few days ago. I have 4 partitions in it.
For some unknown reason one of the partitions, with 800 GB, all of a sudden disappeared from my Finder, but I can see it on Disk Utility where it appears as “Not mounted". With the Disk Utility I verified the partition and it says “It seems to be OK”.
Both through the menu (File> Mount), as well as with the “Mount button” I tried to mount the partition without any results. I already, for several times, restarted the computer, changed the cable which connects to the iMac and connected to a different Mac computer, but situation remains unchanged.
I have visited different communities, but so far found nothing to solve the problem.
Any help and/or suggestion is welcome

Hello there,

Are you using a USB connection or a Fire wire connection on the device, in case you are using Fire wire, use the USB connection instead. Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying and trying to help. I use a FireWire connection, but already changed to USB and even connected to other Apple computer, without a solution.

Hello,
i have the same problem. My 1TB MyBook is not mounting

Do you have the updated backup of this drive with you? You might need to erase the external hard drive and repartition it.
