Not installing software help

WD External and Portable SSD Portable SSD

I just bought a 1TB WD My Passport, when I plugged it into my pc the finding drivers icon popped up and said ready to go.

However, I am unable to run the program to put in the software and when I double click on it the circle just keeps spinning fast, and blinking.

I am running Windows 7. 

Am I doing something wrong?  Any help would be appreciated.

Update your adobe flash player,java and microsoft .net framework. Also download the updated version of smartware.

Thanks for the info but right before I got you reply I realized I was trying to add the software under my user screen on my wifes pc where she is the admin.

I logged out, went under her user name and everything worked great.  I don’t why it wouldn’t let me install under mine but it worked and is working great.
