Brand New 4g Sansa Clip (Silver)

Version: v01.01.30a

When connected to a PC the songs can be viewed in the Music Folder. Roughly 2g of various songs in the folder.

PROBLEM :  Player returns the message “NO SONG” under every option:  Play All - Artists - Albums - Songs - Genres

ALREADY RAN FIRMWARE UPDATER: NO CHANGE

Oddly, the other 4g Sansa Clip (Black) v2 seems to recognize & play the songs just fine.

Solution:

Step 1: Moved all Music Files out of player

Step 2: Reformatted Clip

Step 3: Went into System Information menu and set USB Settings in Clip player to MSC (apparently, Auto Detect mode does not present the Clip as a logical drive and does not index the songs, however, MSC does.) 

Step 4: Copied all the files back into the Clip Music folder

Step 5: Eject Clip USB Device before detaching from Computer

Step 6: Clip player automatically refreshed database

Final:  All songs present and player works fine  :smiley:
