No partition found

Hi,

I just bought a 1TB My Passport external HD yesterday. It was working fine until decided to reformat the drive. Every time I plug it in to my laptop, it won’t recognize it and Im seeing a message saying “No writable Smartware partition found”. I really need the external HD more as a storage and than for back up. Can someone kindly help me figure out on how my laptop can recognize the drive?

Hi,

If is just for storage, you can unistall the smartware that is only for the backup…

That’s the way I use it just for storage…
