New device. Can't get it to work.

I had exactly the same problem re the adhesive screen cover! it took me a couple of days to work it out. Now I have other problems. I synced a playlist of 38 songs and it was still going after 12 + hours! Then when i played it I found it was in a loop of about 6 songs, even though I had chosen Play All. It was also saying there wasn’t enough memory and was showing battery empty even though it was connected all night! I would appreciate any help, please.

There’s a chance that it’s defective, and if it is, you can call 1-866-SANDISK and get it replaced.

But if you want to fiddle with it first, go to the firmware update thread  and follow the Manual installation instructions. You don’t say whether you have a Clip or a Clip +, but choose the right firmware thread from the ones near the top of the first page.

And if it still doesn’t work correctly, tell us the details of your playlist procedure.
