MyBook Studio networkability

Howdy,

so I agreed to help my father in law out when he was sold a MyBook Studio and told it would backup all the files from his 3 home PC’s.

I know the live is the one that was originally designed to do that.

But, is it possible.

a.  can i network the drive (I can see the partition K on the host computer from all the other workgroup machines I setup and

b. will the WDSmart software allow mutiple machines to back to this one drive

Any help greatfully appreciated.

I dont know with another backup software, but with Smartware you wont be able to do it like that.

You can connect it to one computer and allow the others full access. That PC will have to be runnunig to access the drive like a shared printer.
