has anybody detected problems with Windows ? My Windows (first it was 8, now it’s 7) gets freeze very often the first 5m afeter it starts. I’ve checked a lot of things, and the sumary is there are a problem between WD Smartware and my other software. Some time ago, I’ve a similar problem (Windows didn’t crash but it run very slow) and I solved the problem uninstalling the WD Smartware and waiting for the next release.
I’m running the last version of WD Smartware, and I backup all the important in two locations, on MyBookLive and OneDrive.
Anybody suffer the same problems ?

I’d suggesting checking the Windows Task Manager process tab to confirm if WD SmartWare is using significant system resources when this happens.
System resources:
- WDBackupEngine is always on top 5 from CPU usage
- WDDriveServices is always on top 5 from Network usage
- WDDMStatus is using 9.000KB of Memory
Next days, I’ll boot the PC with the WD software running and I’ll stop a different program. I hope in few days I’ll be able to tell you what is the software who freeze me the PC (the hardware is OK).

Where is the solution to this problem?
The problem didn’t seem to be related to WD: after a long time trying different things with no success, I changed the position of the memory banks and it started working fine !
