About two days ago my Western Digital external hard drive that I’m running off Vista OS, stopped recognizing my files i.e…; movies, photos & music. However when I check the properties on it, it still shows the memory being used up??? Where and what do I need to do to restore my drive to gain access to my 1000’s of files???

no,nothing. I can access the WD but it says the files are empty however properties show over half ofmy memory in use?
Run a test on your drive using TestDiskto see if you have data corruption or bad sectors.-
Go into the Device Manager and dellete the driver for the external remove it properly and reboot system then plug drive back in. Sometimes the driver gets corrupt and a fresh one fixes the problem.
