Since you helped to better my WDSmartware, I have been investigating both my systems. I now have made several changes that now have both system working perfectly.
1. I also now can DELETE any file & folder from either computer or my cellphone to my book and all system works great. To delete a file or folder I use WD My Cloud or my cell phone app. All system so far are working and stable. I will see if deleting from Windows exporer if things work fine. I am kind of happy right now everything is working.
2. Both work computers and cell app are working great.
What did I do.
1. I looked at my system event viewer and saw some errors.
2. I looked at Windows services.
3. I looked at MS Config.
First I had all MSconfig items load and start. Microsoft tech web site says it is better to change from Services. (why then they have a check box?) Then restarted computer.
Then I went thru ALL Windows Services. I returned all services back to Windows Default. Per Black Viper Web Site. Then restarted computer.
Then deleted & reinstalled your program.
All work GREAT.
Windows services that I changed from disabled or something to per Black Viper Windows DEFAULT; Certificate Propagation, Distributed Link Tracking Client, IP Helper, MS ISCSI Initiator, Net MSMG Listener, Net Pipe Listener, Net TCP Listener, Net Port Sharing, Netlogon, Network Protection Agent, Routing & Remote Access, SNMP Trap.
When I look at my Services now, NONE are disabled. I think over the years some have been changed by whomever. But WD Smartware now likes my setup.
I think you may want to look into clients services when you do a remote access and change them back to default. At least the ones WD say MUST be used.
I did notice that after you recommended service changes of Net TCP Port, Network Connection, SSDP thing worked better but not always. When I further made all the default changes, that is when it became very stable.
