My Sansa Fuze is not being recognized by my computer :(

Hi,

All of a sudden when I plug in my Fuze, it is not being recognized by my computer…it doesn’t even say that it is connected. I tried some of the troubleshooting techniques that I saw posted on the forums, but nothing has worked so far. It is not showing up in the device manager either. I tried plugging it in to my lap top and it didn’t connect on there either. Please help!!! Thanks!!

Mine did the same thing.

I bought a replacement cable.  The cable is proprietory, but you can get it at Newegg for $5.70?? or Amazon for $1.70.

Everything is working, now…

Thanks! Its weird though…because it charges when I plug the cable into the wall charger… ??

Not weird at all actually. There are ‘data’ wires/pins and there are ‘charging’ wires/pins. If a data wire or pin is broken, it may still charge and vice-versa.
