That sounds like a battery issue, not Windows. If it dies immediately when you unplug the charger, the battery is likely disconnected, failed, or no longer holding a charge. Try a 30 to 40 second power button reset, then check whether the battery is detected in the device’s BIOS or diagnostics. If it still only works on the charger, the battery or its connection likely needs replacing.
