I’ve been considering buying a My Passport Wireless Pro but wanted to verify with someone who owns the deices whether or not the unit will maintain battery levels if the unit is on and connected to a computer USB 3.0 port.
The literature in the User Guide indicates that due to the power demands of the hard drive the unit will NOT charge while connected to computer USB, however, it does not say whether the unit will maintain a charge while connected to computer USB.
This is important since the hard drive does not come with a separate power port specific to power cables, so if it can not maintain a charge, the unit would have to be removed from the computer regularly to charge.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
