Hi,
Got a new My Passport Ultra 2TB. I need to format it for both Mac and PC storage. I saw a topic saying there is a separate partition for that and that the disk appears as two drives - a cd and the storage.
For me i only see one drive and it has everything on it. I did notice that the WD SES driver didn’t install and i cant install it from the disk itself as it says wrong version. So i am not sure what to do, how do I format it to work with both mac and pc?
Hello,
Please note that formatting any drive will remove the data on the unit.
Also the passport that appear with two icons, one for the drive and one for a virtual CD is a different version than the one that you have.
Yeah, I already did it. Saved the data and copied it back.

you can try to download the WD SES driver via online by the WD website instead of the disk itself.
If this work then the reformatting for the disk doesn’t need already to prevent the loss of your datas on that disk.
