I have a MacBook Pro and My Passport Studio is OK, but I want to see my HD to Pc: Can I format in NTFS and dont lose WD SmartWare that it is perfect for me??
Yes, you can format the drive to NTFS file system so you can use it on PC.
Note: Formatting the drive will erase all data, but not the WD Smartware, Smartware is on the VCD area or you can download it from WD website.
After format the drive to NTFS file system, Mac computer will see the files but not able to write to it.
If you want to share read and write on both Mac and PC, try Master Boot Record(MBR). Using the Mac computer to do this and choose MS-DOS(FAT) from Format option when format the drive.
