My passport partitions showing as local disk

I have a My Passport external drive. But recently I can not reach it anymore. My OS recognizes the drive (I can see the drive in Device manager under disk drives). But I can not use it. It is not showing up in disk management and it is showing as a local disk in This PC. I know the drive had 2 partitions and I can see both of them in this way. If I want to open this the it is not possible. It is just continiously loading and doesn’t give an error. Is there anything I can do to reach my external hard drive again?
