My Passport failure - no sound/light

Hi all,

Hoping that someone may be able to help me here - thanks in advance.

I have a My Passport Essential that has completely stopped working.

No sound or movement inside and the light doesn’t even come on, therefore it doesn’t show up in ‘My Computer’.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong or how I go about fixing it?

Hi swilliamson, if the Passport is not responding at all, try using another USB cable, try finding one of the same length as the original cable, the longer the cable the less energy the Passport will receive, also avoid using USB hubs or extension USB cables.
