My hard drive is in read only

I have 2 WD my book HD 

1 is my principal hd

the second is conected wireless and is making a back up with time machine 

about 3 days ago, my principal HD stop saving anything, i cand edit rename, or save anything in it.
I call support and they say that the HD is in window format but i know it was in MAC platfor, i have been useing it for about 7 month… 

I check my Time machine just to see if theres an option to go back n time and it says that the HD is in diffrent format… this was working fine for 7 month, i wrote in a diffrent forum and they say that this have happend to some people before how this can be solve with out formating??? why this happend??? i have so much stress… i cant import the files to my Main computer becouse i have more files than the space that the MAC have in the HD

Hello, you can check the files system for your external hard drive by clicking on it and selecting the “get info option”, you should see it under “Format”. Using Disk Utility you can test your hard drive to verify that everything is working fine. Check the link below for the steps.
