My folders have changed to strange folder names

Hello. I just plugged in my WD external hard drive yesterday on my Windows 7 computer, but when I plugged the drive in… all of these folders with strange names like █x]Θ]n’'.X│W or ▓<{m∩m¼.S@

If I try to open the folders I get an error saying: (folder name) is not accessible. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Someone have a real solution.

For a start have you scanned for viruses and malware? Also What OS are you using?

I’m running on windows 7 ultimate Bits (French version !).

I’ve checked for virus and no one is found.
