My External hard disk is not visible

Hello WD Experts,

I’m using MyPassport (2TB) which purchased 2years ago and working was fine. Now a strange issue raised with my Hard drive that is not vising in Windows explorer to access the tool. However, the disk is visible under Disk Management but showing Not Initialized and the space is Unallocated. Am getting Data Cyclic Redundancy error while trying to initialize the same. I’m not sure whats the cause of the issue.

FYI, the usb cable is working fine.

Requesting your expertise to make the hard disk workable without loosing data.

Thank you for your time and guidence. I have tried to run chkdsk but failed as the external hard disk do not have any label to pass. I also used SFC Scan method but didnt help.

I have tried AOMEI but didnt fix any bad sector and HDD regenerator is running from past 3 days and still on-going.

Is there any genuine HDD tool which I can use for fixing bad sectors.

Ignore this spammer and any advice he gives. It is useless advice and if you were to be successful at following any of the steps he suggests, it will make things worse. I’ve reported him several times and have been told that they are working on it…just odd that it is taking so much time.

Ouch! If you don’t want to lose your data, you had better stop before you completely destroy your drive.

The drive is failing and the only thing you should be doing is getting a full clone with a program like ddrescue or hddsuperclone.

If you value your data, seek professional assistance. Perhaps you can seek compensation from Jose2020 for any damage caused by following his advice.

And THIS is what this post is all about, to get you to visit Stellar in the hope you purchase their subpar file recovery software. This guy is simply a shill, can’t he be banned? On top of that he’s playing with other people’s dat with his dangerous and to be avoided advise.

clearly user must not follow the advise of Jose2020, its very dangerous and may lead to physical failure of the disk, the best thing is to clone the drive if user can do it, if not better send disk to a Pro.
