My computer will not boot up with WD My Book connected???

Check the boot order in BIOS and make sure that USB is after the HD with the OS on it.

You nailed it Joe unless they mean the PC won’t even power up.

Maybe you could give them more details about how to get into the bios (on most boards) etc. for them to be able to do this and accept your solution.

I gave you a kudos myself already, because I think you got it right off the bat.

It’s got difficult to get into the BIOS on some units now. You have to look on the manufacturer’s site for instructions. On my sister’s Emachine there was a porocedure to follow rather then just tap a F key at boot.
