Hello! So, when I access my EX2 via website (mycloud.com), for whatever reason, I cannot see my Excel files, even though they are there.
Has anyone come across an issue where files cannot be seen via mycloud.com, yet they are there???

Hi CloudMan1
there is no filtering active if you mean this. Your files should be shown in mycloud.com portal in the same way as you seen them within the file explorer.
Edit: all kind of files appear in the List view. Maybe you are in Grid view which shows picture only. Take a look in the right upper corner and maybe you have to switch the view style.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I agree with you. I should see my files the same way I see them via my desktop, but I do not. I have tried several browsers, and I receive the same result. As a test, I just uploaded a new Excel file to a folder. It is there, but not seen via mycloud.com.
Here is the weird part…when I log on to mycloud.com when at home, I see everything. The problem is when I access mycloud.com outside my home where I cannot see Excel files. I’m naming Excel because that is the only files I see are an issue as of now.
There are no differences in operations between using mycloud.com inside or outside your home network.
I understand that, but why would this be occurring? I’ve tested in several different ways. I’ve used Chrome, IE11, and Firefox. All have the same result outside of my network. While inside, no issues.
So, what can the issue be? How does mycloud.com access my EX2?
Would it help if I removed my account from mycloud.com and re-registered it? There must be steps I can take to help resolve this issue.
I’ve removed my account, and started over. Same result.
As I expected.
Something is different between the views or the shares. If the files appear if you are inside your home network, they will also appear if your are outside of your home network.
Or: you are using one and the same login credentials, aren’t you?
If not, maybe the “outside” account has no access rights into this special share where the XLS files are stored.
Access rights are all the same. I have no issues from the mobile app that is on the same network as my laptop.
On a side note, can you look at my other posting that is at the top of the list here regarding removing WD Quick View from Windows 10? I’ve installed it, uninstalled, and now I cannot reinstall it.
When I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, the program was not working correctly. I need to manually remove whatever is stuck.
Use WD Access instead of WD Quick View. WD Access is “Windows 10 ready”
Maybe you simply should delete your browser’s cache.
Or click on the “refresh” symbol within mycloud.com web pages.
Thank you. I’ve installed Access. I like Quick view for the stats of the unit, but Access will work.
It’s the laptop. Just tried another computer on IE11, and I can see my stuff…Thanks!
Exists within WD Access too ![]()
Good deal. Thank you for your help. The EX2 is a great product. I put 7200 RPM drives in there. Nice response. I’ve gotten several people to buy the MyCloud line.
Just to get a summary:
your issue with the missing files was related to the software “WD My Cloud for Desktop”, not to mycloud.com web portal right? Now you have deinstalled “WD My Cloud Desktop” and installed “WD Access”, using Windows 10, right?
No, the issue was with the browser. I don’t use the desktop app for Windows.
