I have a Western Digital My Book Essentials 2TB that I bought it years ago, but it’s not working anymore.
So basically, at first it recognized the USB and the drive, but after I click on Drive and put my password then it’s not working and it will show a USB error notification on my window 10.
I have bought a new USB cable, but again it’s not working, I uninstalled the USB drive, and again it’s not working, it’s not working on my other laptop too.
I opened the external drive and I found there is a small board related to the USB, is this the problem? and if yes where should I buy a new one?

When you unplug the USB Board, the Hard Drive is just a Standard SATA Interface
which you can simply plug the Hard drive into any 3rd Party 3.5" Powered USB Enclosure or USB Dock which are readily available from many retailers and online.
or … if you have a Desktop PC, you can plug it into a spare SATA port (you’ll need a SATA Cable and Power Connector … which most power supplies give you 2~4 of

Hmmm, interesting, so basically I can buy something like this:
And try by using only SATA and not USB, because maybe it’s my USB ports (since we only use laptop and we don’t have PC), and maybe I will buy a new power adaptor, sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this 12V adaptor ok?
