My Book Essential 3TB can't seem to maintain power

My disk just suddenly turned off on itself an hour ago.

I’ve tried unplugging the power and usb cable and plugging it in again, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

When I turn on the power the indicator lights up but the drive doesn’t spin like it used to.

And then the indicator light slowly fades out.

Can anybody tell me what’s wrong with it?

EDIT: I’m now able to turn it on but it seems to be constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.

Hello malcolm2142, if possible try connecting the My Book to a wall socket if you are using a power strip, if the problem continues, try using a compatible power supply, you can also call tech support to get a replacement.
