My external says it has installed correctly, but whenever I plug it in my either drives become unresponsive. If I try to use the “safely remove hardware” it says the drive is in use and cannot be stopped. Also the dive icon does not show up. Finally when I do unplug the drive from the USB port the drive shows up for a second and then disappears.
I am operating on window Vista. The drive works perfectly on my desktop. The problem is with my laptop.
