I have a 3tb usb 3 my boook essential and it will not work with any usb 2 computer yet it will work on my computer that has usb 3…HELP!
When you connect the drive to the USB 2.0 PC, make sure to check and see if the drive appears in Disk Management.
Also, check Device Manager to see if the drive shows with a driver conflict.
Sometimes is only a matter of updating the USB drivers for the computer.

the drive does not show in disk management or anywhere else I have updated all usb drivers, it is odd it works in all my computers with usb 3 but not in this one or my xp one
You should try contacting support for additional troubleshooting.
I had no more time for this so i went to a local tech and he determined the controller or the firmware are the issue so I took the drive out and put it in another portable case and bingo works everywhere, to bad I paid for an external and got just a drive
You could have replaced the drive with the Warranty and avoid removing the drive from its enclosure and voiding the warranty.
